Band On Band: Francesca Crowley
Francesca Crowley is an American folk-pop singer-songwriter whose roots extend from Lymington, England to Los Angeles, California. She will earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music in May of 2018.
At the young age of four, Francesca developed a love for music when her mom arranged for piano lessons for her with Little Maestros Music. It was a great outlet to convey her emotions when words couldn’t. Shortly after, she started singing, playing guitar, and songwriting.
Francesca strives to create new and different music about her life. By incorporating her personal story into her songs, she hopes to inspire individuals to overcome their own personal struggles.
“I learned who you are by listening to your songs,” says Stefanie Henning, a former executive at Fox Television Studios, Universal Music Group, Macromedia (now Adobe), International Creative Management (ICM). She is currently the Assistant Vice President for Digital Strategy and Communications at Berklee College of Music.
This past summer, Francesca performed in Los Angeles, Boston, and New York City at places such as The Middle East, The Boston Public Library, The Cantab Lounge, The Prudential Center, Genghis Cohen, Republic of Pie, Life Alive, The Greenway, Trip, Bareburger, Make Shift Boston, Greenhouse Cafe, Parkside Lounge, the Bebop and Midway Cafe.
Upcoming EP- 12/2/17: Reverie (noun, rev-er-ie; a state of being pleasantly lost in one’s thoughts; a daydream).
Francesca believes that making mistakes is part of being a human being: “My EP is about learning from these past experiences and using them to grow as an artist to become the person I am meant to be. As I mature as an adult and craft my musicianship, I am learning how important the word ‘reverie’ is to me. Looking back at my memories, it feels like I was in a trance while the world continued to move around me. This is the theme that runs through the lyrics of my songs”
Some lyrics from songs on Francesca’s debut EP:
“We all laughed ’till we lost our minds.” – Faint Lights
“Time just flies, faster than it seems, I lived so blindly, now I see.” – Air Balloon
