Band on Band: Mercury On Mars

Mercury on Mars hail from the bustling hub of Boston, Massachusetts. The post-punk garage rock rebels formed in 2014 from parts of The Pandemics and The Radio Knives. MoM combine elements of post-punk, power-pop, and psych with supersonic attack, catchy hooks, and monstrous rhythm in the vein of Husker Du, Cheap Trick, and Dinosaur, Jr.

The band is Steve Fay on vocals and guitar, John DiCenso on lead guitar, Dave Scott on bass, and Paul Reynolds on drums. MoM recently joined the family at local DIY label Ocelot Records, and released their latest 4-song EP Human Race/Hyperspace in July of 2016. ASX described the EP as “a veritable rock-and-roll Frankenstein… The result is something that leaves listeners in a beautifully bewildering limbo between the familiar and the foreign. Don’t misunderstand though: when it comes to Mercury on Mars, that limbo is exactly where you want to be.”

You can listen to Human Race/Hyperspace right here, and see the video for the lead single “Rock Bottom” here.”

Mercury on Mars will be playing at PA’s Lounge on January 13th! Details here.
